The dog ate my scanner cable. Getting a new cable for my old scanner is about as expensive as to buy a new scanner. So, that being said, I'm saving up for a scanner still. For now here is one of my designs:

This is a dragon stamp, but the design is available on a multitude of products and more dragons are to come, I just need to save up for that scanner first. I don't have a Wacom tablet or I would just draw on the computer for now lol.

We are now selling from our own site for airbrush clothing and artwork. Invoice is sent by email (Google checkout and PayPal are both accepted) and we ship worldwide.

Well, this blog isn't my most active one, but I decided to post on it today. We finally got the scanner as well as my airbrush equipment. We now sell airbrushed t-shirts and more from our site Wachtel Enterprises LLC. As for our store on Cafepress, Wellc's Store there are some airbrushed items there as well. The difference is, with Cafepress, I scan airbrushed art into the computer then upload the images to our store and Cafepress prints the items. With the items purchased from our own site, those items are airbrushed, not printed.

Yep, mainland is cold, that's for sure. We don't have a scanner yet, so that is why there hasn't been any more designs added. There will be soon though, so stay tuned. Moving sucks

For those of you who visit this blog, I just wanted to update you with some info. We will be relocating to the mainland in a couple of weeks, so we have been busy packing (including those precious color pencils). At first we will be staying with my mother-in-law so computer use will be limited compared to now.

I will update this blog whenever I can. We cannot bring our printer/scanner, so I guess I will have to ask the mother-in-law nicely to use theirs when I have to. We aren't using a moving company, basically just putting stuff in boxes and mailing it and well, our printer won't fit in a flat rate box. Hopefully soon we will be able to afford to get my old computer up and running (it's the one with the graphic program on it) since most free programs don't seem to be working to well with Vista. A scanner is on the wishlist, so once we get set up over on the mainland we should be able to get one.

As beautiful as the state of Hawaii is, we simply can't afford to live here at this point. I really hope we can move back soon, but in order to provide the best upbringing we can for our kids we have to move for now. I uploaded the latest dragon design a bit ago so if you want to check it out it is (currently) the featured product design on the fantasy section. I also have an image of the t-shirt here in this blog as you can see in the column on the right.

Gimp 2 plus Vista .... doesn't mix

The computer I was using that had Adobe Photoshop Elements on it went kaputt. We got a new videocard for it, but it turns out it needs a new motherboard as well. The financial situation right now does not allow for it, so I tried using Gimp on my computer that has Vista OS. Well although it used to work ok (eek! bright flashes every time you try to move the cursor), it has acted up a lot since the last couple of updates from Vista. Layers don't register until five minutes later. That is, I make the layer transparent and wonder why it isn't working like it used to. Then I make another layer and when that is finally done then I realize that wait NOW the first layer was transparent the whole time. I'm not talking about a new empty file, I know I can make that one transparent easily just by choosing transparency. I'm referring to when I scan one of my drawings in and need to erase some of the background to make it look good on a t-shirt. I know GIMP can be a RAM hog, but RAM shouldn't be the problem on this computer, I have 3 GB. I tried paint.net which is supposed to work with Vista and although it is working better, it is still not the greatest. I finally found a 30 day trial of paint shop pro so I did get a couple of Halloween designs up (still working on a couple of dragon drawings though). Paint Shop Pro... better than GIMP but I'm not buying it even if I could afford it. I think saving up for a new motherboard is my best bet at this point. How does this all relate to dragon drawings? Well in case you are wondering why this blog hasn't been too updated lately it is because I've been spending most my time drawing dragons for when the Photoshop Elements computer is working again.

I put up two more designs with dragons, both are in the dragon and fantasy section of our store of course. I'm updating the pictures in the side of this blog to keep the lag of the page down. One design line is of a blue dragon in a sitting pose

More drawings to be added, it takes me a little longer than I thought since my Photoshop cs3 30 day trial ran out... and back to GIMP I go! The fire outlined black and white dragon looks awesome and the shirts are great quality as well. I think it looks good on all color shirts too.

Aloha,
I'm an artist and gamer that like to draw many different things. One of my favorite things to draw is dragons. I thought about starting a blog with some info about dragons, but also with links to dragon-related sites, information and some of my artwork. I sell t-shirts and other items with my designs on our store on Cafepress. I will try to post pictures of new designs (dragons) as they become available. If you like other types of art too, super cool, but this blog will be related to my dragon items. Thanks for checking out this blog, and I will try to keep it updated every couple of days or more often if possible. Life as a mom, wife, artist and gamer can get a little busy. I usually just use pens, pencils (mainly prismacolor pencils) and various sketch books and paper. For graphics program I use GIMP since I can't afford Photoshop CS3 (it is on my wishlist for one of these days though). Thanks for looking and btw, leezards rock! :)
